Fernandez-Preiksa (The Neuroscience of Self-Love), host of the lively podcast Do You F*cking Mind?, puts her neuroscience knowledge to work in this motivational, audio-only guide designed to explain how and why to change one's mindset. From confronting bias to focusing on one's internal power, Fernandez-Preiksa offers an introspective method to mastering one's outlook in a way that works with--not against--one's brain. Because she focuses on incremental change, the author recommends listening to one of the 30 chapters each day for 30 days and revisiting lessons later to assess one's progress. As such, this work is more of a deep dive than a quick fix. The work is narrated by Fernandez-Preiksa in a strong Australian accent that might be polarizing, with a conversational that makes the information approachable. Musical tones denote daily tasks and the start of each separate module. VERDICT This audio will appeal to listeners seeking a self-help book that invites them to be an active participant in reframing, not reinforcing, their way of thinking. Recommended for fans of The Greatness Mindset by Lewis Howes or Fernandez-Preiksa's podcast.--Lauren Hackert

Narrating this exceptional audiobook with power and confidence, Alexis Fernandez-Preiksa, the host of a popular podcast, uses her training in neuroscience and her own personal growth adventures to explain the mindset and strategies needed for each of us to live our best life. The implicit message in her muscular voice and matter-of-fact tone is that all of us have the ability to recognize the bad habits and attitudes that keep us from enjoying life. Without this kind of self-examination and follow-up discipline, our brain makes us do as we always have--no matter how much unhappiness and heartbreak these patterns create. Her magnetic vocal strength and the life challenges she describes make this a top recommendation for anyone stuck in life patterns that need a major overhaul. T.W.
