      This new series takes the long-beloved character to Alaska for adventure and, of course, sleuthing. Nancy, Bess, and George embark on the maiden voyage of an Alaskan cruise ship that has received threats of sabotage (Arctic); mysterious events continue into the second book (Strangers). The plot, though formulaic, is taut and fast-moving, and Nancy Drew devotees will appreciate the fresh setting.
